umor has it that Paul was once challenged by another magician to a card throwing contest. The bet was to see who could throw the card the farthest and still be able to catch it "boomerang" style. An attractive non-magician female-type person was to be the judge. The problem was that Paul is less than a great boomerang man, even though his reputation is such that he's supposed to be able to do wonderful things all the time. The rumor concludes with Paul ad-libbing a thoroughly despicable bluff, ending up in Paul winning the heart and kidneys of the female-type person, and the wrath of boomerang experts everywhere. Paul swears that he has no knowledge of this rumor, that the aforementioned event never took place, and that he would never ever have the nerve to try it again anyway.
