This version is indeed much more commercial than the original even though the modus operandi is the same. To begin, remove the AC-4C-7C-10C-KC. As in the Si-Stebbins set-up, each card is three higher than its predecessor. To this group, add the 3S-8S-4H-9D-QH-JD-2H-7D. Shuffle these 13 cards well. Take any other card in the deck and, with a sharp pencil, place a dot in the upper left hand corner and the lower right hand corner of its back. Put the marked card on top of the pack. Place the 13 card stack on top of the pencil dotted card and reinsert the deck back in the box.
The only other prop that you'll need is a jumbo King of Clubs. Assuming you're performing while wearing a jacket, tuck the giant card under the waistband of your trousers at the small of your back. It should be back side out, with about three-quarters of the card protruding above your belt line. Since the jumbo card that I use is extremely large, I fastened a magnetic money clip to a large safety pin. This "holdout" is then pinned to the back of my shirt, between the shoulder blades. The jumbo card is inserted between the magnets, which hold it securely in place until needed.
