In the July 1958 issue of Genii magazine, I published an effect which I entitled, "Super Annemental Routine." It explained a principle that I helped pioneer; the use of the postal Zip code to mark business cards and mailing envelopes. In looking back at the five reproductions of my business cards in that article, I have to laugh at my youthful brashness. In those days, the zone code consisted of a single digit. The greatest miracle involved was how I got away with it! Fortunately over the years, the number of digits increased to five and became the Zip code. This provided better cover for a very bold principle; one that I've used for 34 years to perform some of the most baffling mental effects possible.
I used the Zip code marking principle again in 1977 with the publication of "Perplexing ESP Plaques" in my book, "Larry Becker's World of Super Mentalism - Volume One." But, the old adage, "If you want to hide something, put it in print," seems to apply to both the principle and the many effects I've created over the years using it. Recently, three local mentalists "discovered" it (after 34 years) and I videotaped several routines for their use. Here are a few more routines employing this invaluable aid. Believe me, it will pay you handsomely to spend the time, effort and expense to make this up.

Today I'm going to teach you a fundamental Mentalism technique known as 'cold reading'. Cold reading is a technique employed by mentalists and charlatans and by charlatan I refer to psychics, mediums, fortune tellers or anyone that claims false abilities that is used to give the illusion that the person has some form of super natural power.
