"A story must biuld to a filial action beyond which the. audience cannot imagine another."
Robert McKee, Story
I think the liest kicker effects are those in which, if there were no kicker, the audience would still feel they had seen a great trick. The kicker is a bonus.
In this effect, you reach that point twice. The basic effect by itself thoroughly amazes laypeople. (I know. 1 performed it exactly that way for over twenty years before devising the follow-up phases.) Then you hit them with a topper that leaves them flabbergasted. If the trick ended there they'd walk away feeling they'd seen a miracle. Instead you hit them with one more climax that tops everything that came before. This "further than chat" quality makes it an ideal closing effect.
