The Method. The pack is ordinary. Have it examined and then mixed. After that have any three cards freely chosen whilst the deck is face downwards. These three are dropped into a box. It is an ordinary flap changing card box, loaded on the other side of the flap with three cards known to the performer. It is locked with a small padlock AND THEN EXAMINED by the spectator, who really is concerned with holes, trapdoors, etc.—and not what is inside. That's all there is to it—not much to worry about and yet it's good material for a man who knows what he's doing.
