"THE MOST OUTSTANDING TRICK OF THE PARIS CONVENTION".

ANOTHER 'SCOOP' BY MAX ANDREWS— the most enterprising dealer in Great Britain. I am the ONLY ONE WITH THE GENUINE SECRET! and the rights to make. Do not be misled by any method with a sloppy creamy mixture. THIS MIX GOES AS HARD AS FROZEN ICE CREAM—AND WHEN YOU PUT YOUR SPOON IN YOU CAN TURN THE GLASS UPSIDE DOWN . . . WITHOUT IT FALLING OUT.

YOU CAN ACTUALLY PULL YOUR ICE CREAM OUT OF THE GLASS ON THE END OF THE SPOON . . . LIKE A LOLLIPOP ! !

The effect is that you offer to make icecream and have some water in a tumbler. Anyone is requested to name the flavour they would like, and on stirring the water it changes as desired. This is then poured into a Cocktail Glass, and one hand placed over the top.

THE CONTENTS ARE VIGOROUSLY SHAKEN . . . WHEN TO EVERYONE'S ASTONISHMENT ... IT IS SEEN TO CHANGE TO A SOLID, RIGHT BEFORE THEIR EYES ! ! THE MIX LOOKS EXACTLY THE OPAQUE, HARD, FROZEN TEXTURE OF REAL ICE CREAM, AND I DOUBT IF ANYONE COULD TELL THE DIFFERENCE FROM THE GENUINE ARTICLE AT A DISTANCE OF TWO FEET.

KALANAG—the famous illusionist bought this trick and put it in his act at once. He wrote us "Instant Freeze" is one of the high spots in my bar act, and I use it regularly at every performance."

Meet

Ciré is one of the well known British Professional Magicians, and for many years regularly travelled the Music Halls . At the present time he specialises in Private Engagements, Cabarets, Night Clubs, etc. As our readers will see by his photograph, he is the personification of a true magician and we can personally vouch for the fact that his act is as smart as his appearance.

He tells us that at 16 years of age he joined a Concert Party, entertaining for charities and all he did was a Tap Dancing act. This did not last very long.

A few years later he joined an amateur Dramatic Society, again without success. Back again he went to Concert Party work, this time including three tricks which were the Torn and Restored Paper, Thumb Tips used in various tricks, and Thumb Tie with hoops. This presentation turned out more favourably and he had requests to perform for fees of 10/-. With this splendid income he bought more tricks, and found success coming slowly but surely.

In 1936 he turned to constructing a Robot, with which he experimented for about two years, after which he successfully made him walk, talk, shake hands, bow, etc. The name line he gave him was "ERIC", remembering the famous story "Little by Little". ERIC was certainly a great success, and was front page news in all the leading Daily Papers. Gaumont British made a film of him, and offers came in from all quarters booking him. Ciré was also inundated with interested purchasers and eventually ERIC was disposed of.

He returned to Magic, planning bigger ideas and adopting his present make-up, and working big Illusions and employing assistants. He used ERIC'S name reversed CIRE, and toured under the management of Mr. Billy Marsh, Delfont Agency, etc.. etc.

Ciré toured most of the leading theatres, and enjoyed considerable success. He has made two short films of his present act.

Incidentally he tells us that he was one of the earliest members of the London Society of Magicians and owes a great deal to my old friend
