THIS INWARD BENDING OF THE CARDS ENABLES THE PERFORMER TO PICK UP EACH CARD EASILY FROM THE TABLE, TAKING IT AT EITHER END BETWEEN THE THUMB AND THE SECOND FINGERTIP.

The performer now turns the queen face upwards and then picks up the two outer facedown cards between the thumb and second fingertip of each hand. Turning the wrists outward he shows the faces of these two cards to the audience and then holds them face down again. The queen is now turned face down on the table, using the card in the left hand to turn it over, this is a simple matter as the face-up queen is curved outwards. If the side of the left hand card is placed just under the queen on her left hand side and jerked upwards the card will turn over.

The face down queen is now picked up between the right hand thumb and second fingertip the two cards being held as follows:

1. The left hand sides of the two cards are placed together as the queen is picked up.

2. The right hand sides are about half an inch apart all afong.

3. The thumb and second finger are held near the top and bottom edges of the cards on the right hand side, keeping the break.

The wrist is again turned outwards showing to the audience the queen at the bottom. Fig 2. shows the exact position in which the two cards are held. In the drawing the hand is shown slightly tilted upwards to illustrate the space between the right hand sides of the cards.

You are now ready to perform the false throw. (Whilst appearing to deal the queen face down on the table the top card (eight of clubs) goes down instead).
