The following letter arrived the other day and 1 thought it might be of interest to the rest of the subscribers as it highlights the high educational standards required to read The Trapdoor.

Dear Mr. Beam,

"1 recently received the Hay 1988 issue of The Linking Ring in Hay (an important point when it comes to magic magazines) and 1 read Hr. Johnsson's review of The Trapdoor. He stated that 'a twenLy-five dollar bill would get you a subscription'.

"1 checked with my banker and he said that there is no $25.00 denomination and that 1 would have to send a twenty dollar bill and a five dollar bill. Since sending money through the mails is not a wise practice, he suggested 1 send a check ins tead .

"Therefore, enclosed please find my personal checks. One for twenty (20) dollars and one for five (5) dollars. 1 hope this is acceptable. If you have any questions, please call me ASAP."

While his name was withheld by request, in the last line he did say that 1 could call him "A SAP". Please join with me in welcoming our newest sap. If you would like to receive five issues of The Trapdoor (a sure sign of being a sap) send two checks ($20.00 + $5.00) to:
